LAURA ROWE

ABOUT

Hi! I'm Laura and it's great to meet you!

Working in Sport and Exercise Psychology I support my clients to achieve their goals and ambitions. Although some aspire to achieve gold medals or win world titles, many simply want to feel they are performing at their own 'best level', whilst others just wish they could stick to a regular exercise routine. Our goals are individual, just like us!

As someone who has always been passionate about performing to the best of their ability, I know what it feels like to search for ways to improve and how frustrating it can be when you are not managing to achieve the results that you would like!

Life has taught me that we are far more capable than we may currently believe is possible. In my twenties, I would have told you that it was ‘impossible’ that I would ever complete a marathon. However, in my thirties, with the right motivation, I proved myself wrong. I went from non-runner to marathon finisher in one year, in order to raise money for charity following a friends cancer diagnosis. This achievement renewed my interest in health and fitness, as well as my passion for psychology, which had been my original degree. I had experienced first hand how vital our mindset is for our performance. As a 'mature student' I went on to qualify as a Personal Trainer, complete an MSc in Sport & Exercise Psychology and now, having subsequently completed the BPS QSEP training pathway, I am proud to say that I am a fully qualified Sport & Exercise Psychologist.

Currently in my 40's, I am a regular exerciser and keen walking footballer. Having found a way back to sport and exercise myself slightly later in life, I am appreciative of some of the additional challenges that this can bring. We often need to juggle training amongst other priorities, and plan to work 'smarter not harder' in order to avoid injury.  I am particularly passionate about supporting others who aim to compete at their best or commence sport in 'midlife'. It is never too late for goals and dreams! I would love to chat with you about how I could support you to achieve yours.
