What kind of things can a Sport Psychologist help me with?
Sport psychologists support athletes with the mental side of their performance and well-being. I specialise in performance anxiety, but am also able to assist with other challenges (which may of course be linked) such as lack of confidence, loss of concentration, coping with injuries, to name a few. If you are unsure whether I can help, do feel free to get in touch and ask as I will be very happy to chat with you. You can contact me here.
When do you offer sessions and how much are they?
Currently I offer 1:1 online sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Each session lasts up to 60 minutes and my pricing is available here. It is helpful if you can let me know the days/times you are available for sessions when you make an enquiry, as this will enable me to see if I have availability to accommodate.
If you require in-person support at a specific sporting event, or a workshop delivered to a group or team, please get in touch providing the details. If I am able to assist, I will be happy to provide a quotation.
What age athletes do you work with? Can you support my child?
I support adult athletes and youth athletes aged 14 and upwards. If your child is aged 13 or below, then I am probably not the best fit for you right now. My after-school availability is extremely limited, so if you are enquiring about support for your child, it will be helpful if you can include details of your preferred days/times for sessions so that I can see whether or not I may have availability prior to arranging an introductory meeting.
What qualifications do you hold?
I completed the British Psychological Society (BPS) Qualification in Sport and Exercise Psychology (QSEP) in 2023 and as a result am now registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I am also a Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow with the BPS. The QSEP is a doctoral level qualification and prior to this I completed an MSc in Sport & Exercise Psychology and an Undergraduate Degree in Psychology. Additionally, I am a qualified Personal Fitness Trainer and have completed wide ranging CPD courses, including relating to women’s health, wellbeing and menopause.
Can you offer support for my performance in a non-sporting field?
I am very happy to work with those looking to improve their performance and confidence in areas other than sport. As some examples I have supported: those looking to make adjustments to their lifestyle and exercise habits; business executives striving to perform at their best; people wanting to feel more confident managing the multitude of things life can throw at us; business owners looking to hone their approach and achieve their goals – if you are feeling overwhelmed, lacking confidence or have something you want to achieve, do get in touch as I may well be able to help!
Can I chat to you before deciding whether to move ahead?
Absolutely! Picking a psychologist that you feel is right for you is vital for your success. I offer a free of charge introductory meeting to all potential new clients. This is held on Zoom (so you can test the format!) and is around 20 minutes. Get in touch here if you would like to arrange yours.
